In 1996 he joined Deutsche Morgan Grenfell in New York and subsequently transferred to Sao Paulo, Brazil where he ran the investment banking group overseeing a group of twelve professionals. While in Brazil Mr. Hegeman executed mergers and acquisitions transactions (both buy and sell side) in excess of US$ 15 Billion, equity offerings in excess of $3 Billion, and debt financings (both banks and syndicated loans) in excess of $25 Billion. At the end of 1999 Mr. Hegeman joined the Latin America corporate finance group of Deutsche Bank Securities in New York where he executed transactions in energy, utilities, and financial institutions, totaling in excess of $15 Billion.
Mr. Hegeman supervised a team of five professionals. In 2003 he assumed the position of corporate finance head for Deutsche Bank’s Latin American Corporate Finance, a position he held until his departure toward the end of 2006. In this position he executed M&A transactions in excess of US$ 12 Billion. Mr. Hegeman joined Fator Securities LLC as CEO in April 2007 through May 2012. Fator Securities is the New York based broker dealer for Banco Fator a Brazilian investment bank. He left this firm in mid 2012.
Mr. Hegeman graduated from the Universidad Catolica de Chile with a B.A. in Economics, and obtained his MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
